Ten
Steps to a Remodeling Project
This process could be used for a bathroom, kitchen, basement, windows, siding, decks, patios, miscellaneous
repairs, etc.

- When a call is received in the
office we will briefly discuss the project that is to be completed, timing of
the project, and set an appointment for us to meet you in your home or
office.
- We discuss the scope of work to be
completed, inspect the site for possible problems that might arise and take all
the necessary measurements of the area to be remodeled.
- We will provide an estimated
budget price for the work discussed and leave you with a feasibility study. The
feasibility study will provide a rough budget and a basic scope of work. If the
budget and scope of work are acceptable we will ask for a deposit and proceed
with the list below.
- We then return to our office to
work out a design, specify all cost items and assemble a proposal.
- We then will call the client and
set an appointment to return and go over the budget details and design.
- If the scope of work and budget
appear to be workable, the client can sign and return the proposal with a
deposit.
- When we receive the signed
proposal we call the client to set up a timetable to start the project and apply
for permits if necessary.
- When we receive the permits we
would start the project by setting up a pre-construction conference with the
sales/design person, the project manager/lead carpenter, and the homeowner. This
meeting is set up to make sure the details are passed on to the project
manager/lead carpenter as well as possible. It also gives the client a chance to
ask any final questions before starting the site preparation.
- We then complete the scope of work
as described in the proposal. If there are items that need to be changed or
added we would write an additional work change order. If the additional work
order is minor the work would be completed on a time and material basis and
billed out once the task is completed.
- We set periodic appointments with
the clients throughout the project to confirm the scope of work is being
completed as expected.We will
complete a final walk through when the project is completed to ensure everything
was completed to the proper specifications and check the quality of
workmanship.
