DO YOU HAVE YOUR CARBON MONXIDE DETECTORS?
As of January 1, 2007, every home in Illinois is required to have CO detectors installed within 15 feet of every room used for sleeping.
We at D/R Services want to make sure that all of our clients are protected and in compliance with the new law, and have the appropriate detectors installed.
The law allows three different types of alarms to be used to meet the requirements. The alarm can be battery-powered, a plug-in style with battery back-up, or it can be wried directly into the alternating current power line with a secondary battery back-up.
The alarm must bear the label of a nationally recognized testing laboratory, and must comply with the most recent standards of the Underwirters Laboratories, so make sure it has the "UL" symbol on the package.
You may also use a combination CO/Smoke Detector if the unit emits alarms that clearly differentiate the hazards - one sound or pattern for CO and a different sound or pattern for smoke.
Our professionals are available to answer any questions you have about the CO detectors. You may talks to us when we're working in your home, or feel free to call the office any time.
